Exploring Solutions for Kids using a Water flosser
Our client wanted to develop an innovative water flosser for school-aged children, but we knew that improper use could pose risks to them. Therefore, before designing the product, we conducted user testing with several children who had never used a water flosser. By observing their behavior during use, we identified potential issues and explored creative ideas to help children use the water flosser effectively and safely.

Tubed U-shaped Design
In the user tests, unlike adults, we found that most children instinctively held the water flosser with both hands to feel secure while using it. After extensive design explorations, we concluded that a tubed U-shaped body is the best design language for children. It provides a cute appearance that supports their gripping style.
Innovative Brightness Sensor Built-in Nozzle
Another significant issue we discovered during the process is that children often accidentally spray other parts of their bodies. The worst case scenario is when they almost injure their eyes while using the water flosser. To ensure a safer use, we proposed to the R&D engineers the idea of integrating a brightness sensor into the nozzle. This allows the nozzle to activate when it detects darkness, ensuring that the flosser only ejects water when it is inside the mouth.

Extendable Water Tank for Multiple Capacities
The water tank of this smart water flosser can be expanded upwards from the right side to increase its water capacity. You can fill the water flosser by opening the yellow silicone cap on top.
Easy Disassembly for Cleaning
This Smart water flosser features a perfect waterproof design and detachable components that allows easy disassembly of the various parts for cleaning.
CMF Planning
