ASPT (Asia Series Poker Tour) ｜Championship Trophy
The ASPT was a series of poker tournaments held in the Asian region, organized by the Asian Poker Federation. Its aim is to promote the sport of poker and enhance its recognition and popularity in Asia. Since its inception in 2011, the series has successfully held multiple editions. And I designed a championship trophy for the 2023 ASPT event.
Reference of Initial Idea
Inspired by the glory of a blooming flower, the petals reminded me of a spread of poker cards. I made the overall shape looked like a blooming flower which symbolized the spirit of victory and played with the diamond texture from the back of poker cards by assigning it to the base stand. Lastly, incorporating the event logo into the pistil.
Details applied when 3D cadding
The main body of the trophy is molded from the outline of the event logo. I also angled the upper logo at 45 degrees in order to enhance recognition. The petals on both sides featured the diamond pattern commonly seen on the back of pokers.
Process of Production
Each component of this trophy had a different manufacturing process. The logo was crafted by using metal casting and some parts were produced by using 3D printing, finishing off the surface with electroplating. The other components were made by RTM (Resin Transfer Molding).
XXL Trophy at the ASPT Event
Following the client's request, we made a super sized version of the above trophy. It was super fun. I designed a large base for this trophy which metal Nameplates would be stuck on. These Nameplates are engraved with the names of past Champions and displayed at the event's venue.
